Your membership in NAMI Delaware County PA is important – whether or not you can attend meetings or be an active member. We are an advocacy group for persons with mental illness and we frequently need to work with politicians in an effort to realize funding for programs that can benefit our people. County, state and national legislators consider only official dues-paying members in determining the size and strength of an organization.

Also, we have an ongoing volunteer list. You put your name on it, and from time to time, when we need help with mailings, readying for special projects, manning tables at health fairs, etc. we’ll call, and if you can, great, if not, we’ll try you another time.

Note: there are leadership opportunities heading a special committee, being a facilitator for Family to Family education, being a facilitator for peer support groups we are always in need, and there is up-and-coming training for facilitators. Don’t hesitate to get involved, it is a good avenue to put in positive energy and get a positive outcome, especially in an environment where we need a lot of growth and updated information and education with mental health concerns!
